Applications are now open for the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowship 2027, an international funding opportunity designed to support talented women from developing and emerging countries who are pursuing advanced research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

The programme supports women undertaking PhD studies or postdoctoral research at recognized universities and research institutions outside their home countries. Master's programmes are not eligible for funding.

The Faculty for the Future programme was created to strengthen the representation of women in STEM and help develop a growing network of women scientists, researchers, academics, and leaders who can contribute to development in their home countries and regions.

Successful applicants can receive significant financial support toward tuition, research expenses, accommodation, living costs, insurance, travel, visa expenses, and other approved costs associated with their studies or research.

Benefits

Up to USD 50,000 per year for PhD studies.
Up to USD 40,000 per year for postdoctoral research.

Eligibility Requirements

Be female.
Be a citizen of an eligible developing or emerging country where women are underrepresented in STEM.
Not hold dual citizenship where one citizenship is from a developed country.
Be pursuing a PhD or postdoctoral research programme in a STEM discipline.
Have already applied to, been admitted to, or be enrolled at a recognized university or research institution abroad.
Have an excellent academic record.
Demonstrate a commitment to returning to your home country or region after completing your studies.
Show evidence of teaching experience or commitment to academic, research, entrepreneurship, or public sector work in STEM.
Demonstrate leadership skills and active community involvement.
Have a record of encouraging girls and women to participate in STEM.
Meet the language requirements of the host institution.
Have sufficient English proficiency for the programme interview process.

Application Process

Applications are completed through the official Faculty for the Future online application portal.

New applicants should create an account, complete all required sections of the application, upload their documents, and provide referee information.

Applicants are responsible for making sure their referees submit their reference letters on time.

The application itself must be submitted by November 7, 2026 at 12:00 noon CST, while reference letters must be received by November 14, 2026 at 12:00 noon CST.
